Glazed Double-Height Penthouse Overlooking The Urban Jungle Posted: 18 Apr 2012 06:30 AM PDT House Of The Tree rises above the city of Shenzhen, China, drawing in natural light through a defining feature of the space – a two-floor interior space partly glazed and open to the idea of "living between the city and the nature”. Designed by Kokai Studios, the penthouse apartment occupying the 48th and 49th floors of a high-rise building displays a splendid residential structure spreading over 616 square meters. A planted tree thrones in the middle of this high interior space, creating a dreamy connection between the outdoors and the light-flooded residential space. The design of these dynamic interiors were possible after tearing down walls and reorganizing the space. Created from the “ashes” of two separate apartments, this dream space combines public and private functions in a glamorous suite of spaces culminating with an outdoor terrace pierced by a swimming pool. Interesting Alternative To Residential Chairs By Martz Edition Posted: 18 Apr 2012 04:53 AM PDT Choosing to fill your residential space with quality furniture will prove of great value over time. An interesting collection of items will complete the carefully designed spaces. Take for example the A 500 2 Chair by Martz Edition – a contemporary shape available in four design variants – the Confort version boasts power, the Eiffel one is reminiscent of the complex construction of France’s symbol, the Stripes version constructs a soberer atmosphere, while the Bubble chair features a playful backrest design. Seen on Trendir, the immaculately designed chair offers an elegant alternative to usual chairs and adds character to any given space. Available with a set of customizable features – like an aluminum or wooden body, fabric or leather upholstery – the clean chair design follows the contours of the body to offer a comfortable seating experience. Which one is your favorite?

Spacious And Carefully Compartmentalized Ukrainian Apartment Posted: 18 Apr 2012 03:50 AM PDT What is it that people want from an apartment? Space, comfort, style, a constant feeling of a welcoming space, a private retreat from the world? Let’s see how many of these features we can spot in this rendering of a 300 square meter apartment designed by Alexander Chervinskyi for Azovskiy & Pahomova Architects. Textures and colors shape an elegant collection of spaces and the floorplan is divided between the “active and quiet” zones – as the architects describe them. A large common room including the brightly lit living room and adjacent sundeck, open dining, inspiring office space and lounge zone shapes the public part of the apartments, while the kitchen, master bedroom, three kids bedrooms, guest suite and bathrooms were considered the private spaces and placed separately. The main living space has access to beautiful vistas through large windows that gently warm up the space. This Ukrainian apartment spotted on Home Designing is also functional, with plenty of storage spaces carefully designed to be integrated in the owners daily lives. Now, does this apartment have what is takes to be a dream home? You're reading Spacious And Carefully Compartmentalized Ukrainian Apartment originally posted on Freshome. Irregularly Shaped Modern Residence in Denver, Colorado: Shield House Posted: 17 Apr 2012 09:07 AM PDT Displaying an irregular exterior appearance, the Shield House designed by Studio H:T and located in Denver, Colorado, is a project that won our attention. According to the architects, “this urban infill project juxtaposes a tall, slender curved circulation space against a rectangular living space. The tall curved metal wall was a result of bulk plane restrictions and the need to provide privacy from the public decks of the adjacent three story triplex. This element becomes the focus of the residence both visually and experientially. It acts as sun catcher that brings light down through the house from morning until early afternoon. At night it becomes a glowing, welcoming sail for visitors“. The unusual, but appealing exterior design elements are partially brought indoors with the help of wooden beams, some of them bended. Have a look and tell us what you think. You're reading Irregularly Shaped Modern Residence in Denver, Colorado: Shield House originally posted on Freshome.
