Uro House by 7XA Taller De Arquitectura Slightly Shifted Floor Plan Overlooking The Sierra Madre
Resting on a 5,000 square meter property, the imposing Uro House was built between a few existing trees and its slightly shifted floor plan allows the interiors to benefit from beautiful views of the Sierra Madre mountains. Gathered under the same roof and spread over two floors, the 9,800 square feet interior spaces were separated into public and private rooms, with an accentuated care for the landscape. 7XA Taller De Arquitectura were the talented architects behind this residential project – a cross-shaped modern construction located in Monterrey, Mexico. The two story high contemporary house has terraces and partially covered zones acting as the links between spaces thus creating a carefully planned dream home.
Uro House by 7XA Taller De Arquitectura 2 Slightly Shifted Floor Plan Overlooking The Sierra Madre
Architects describe their work on the Uro House: “One enters the plot through a very discreet hallway which, as it opens, reveals the house set among the trees. A rotunda surrounds two walnut trees, and it functions as an external entrance hall that connects to a cube of concrete that serves as an access. It takes the visitor to an L-shaped slab, which is the great entrance to the garden and the terraces in the back. The house is organized by a central space with a wood cylinder as a motif. It conceals a commode in the ground floor, and a study room in the first floor. This space divides the zones of the house: on one side, the ground floor contains the social part, opened and merged with the exterior; on the other side, the semiprivate area -more closed and intimate. The first floor holds the secondary bedrooms in the front and the master bedroom in the back of the house, with a view to the enormous garden.”

North Bay Residence by Touzet Studio Three Dedicated Courtyards Shaping The North Bay Residence
This waterfront masterpiece is better admired from the water – an inviting pure white modern residence guarded by tall palm trees. The North Bay Residence in Miami, Florida, is defined by three courtyards shaping the owner’s lifestyle and architectural details. All the 12,309 square feet are brightly lit by carefully placed windows, creating a dynamic interior design subject to weather changes. Miami-based Touzet Studio created an essential bond between the partly wooded, water-adjacent property and the interior spaces. The structure’s east-west orientation created a long and narrow collection of indoor/outdoor spaces, arranged in an open floor plan inspired by the shape of a bar. Hidden behind mature live oaks, the front facade protects the property from indiscreet eyes while seasoning the landscape with the imposing trees. The rest of the outside space is clean and carefully designed to offer many choices of spending free time. The three courtyards  – the Tree Court, the Rain Court and the Water court – each display their own strong character.
North Bay Residence by Touzet Studio 2 Three Dedicated Courtyards Shaping The North Bay Residence
Here is how the architects describe these defining elements:  “The Tree Court is bound by the Florida keystone-clad wall of the Guest Quarters volume and the ficus repens covered volume of the garage. The court is sheltered by the natural canopy of the oak trees. The first perpendicular element, a glass-clad bridge that contains the children's bedrooms, extends from the main bar and rests on the Guest Quarters volume. It shields the entry to the house and frames the entry to the second court. This court, the Rain Court is bound on three sides by the circulation spine of the main bar, the Guest Quarters volume, and the two-story living room and opens onto a dense garden wall. The third court, the Water court faces the Bay, and contains the pool and spa and was designed to create an exterior environment that encouraged full access and enjoyment of the Bay and its long vistas and sunsets. The second canopy to shield a court is the concrete "parasol" that extends above the living room volume.”

Villa M in Austin Texas 4 Brightly Colored Home Organized Around a Central Swimming Pool
Bright colors, classic design and contemporary architecture were the client’s expectations of Villa M, implemented by Brian Dillard Architecture and located in Austin, Texas. According to the official project description,”the house is organized around a central pool and garden area that is shared by the main house and pool house. Both enjoy large, multi-slide doors which open the spaces completely to the pool during nicer months.  The red stucco volumes are inspired by the vernacular stucco of Nice, France where the owner is from.  The parterre garden, tiled pool, and fountain along a central axis are also reminiscent of French influences. Strong design elements including the bright colors and general form of the house are softened by the use of classic, warm materials such as white oak wood paneling and terrazzo floors“. See any design ideas that you would like to take into consideration when designing your own home?

Brammell Residence by Studio B Rural Dream Home That Could Be An Amazing Inheritance
Located in the partly-tamed landscape surrounding a 7.8 acre lot in Old Snowmass, Colorado, this extraordinary rural villa was built in close relation with its surroundings, turning itself into a comfortable viewing platform for the immensity of agricultural land surrounding the house. Overlooking snow-covered mountains in the distance, the Brammell Residence features an amazing set of interior spaces designed by Aspen-based architectural firm Studio B Architects.
Brammell Residence by Studio B 2 Rural Dream Home That Could Be An Amazing Inheritance
By creating a cozy atmosphere in the 8,000 square foot rural home, Studio B gave the family living here a customized dream home. A water feature perfectly adapted to the rural location is visible from the dining room/kitchen space and outdoor BBQ and dining space. A wooden pergola filters the light reaching the first floor of the middle volume interiors. The two adjacent private volumes – one on each side – were placed facing the breathtaking landscape of sage and wildflower fields, and the mixture of building materials like limestone, stained siding rain screen application and steel panels connect the built structure to the land. This rural dream home would be one amazing inheritance.
